Quantification of natural water retention capacity in selected watersheds
Pavlík, František ; Švihla,, Vladimír (referee) ; Pavelková,, Renata (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this work is to quantify the natural water retention capacity of the landscape in selected catchments and determine the significance of selected climatic and geographic basin factors on components of retention capacity. 18 rainfall-runoff events were selected in 11 catchments for quantification of the natural water retention capacity of landscape. Land cover, geomorphological, pedological and hydrological conditions were analyzed for this basin using GIS tools. Historical rainfall-runoff events for which were restored historical land cover were also evaluated in this work. Two different methods were used for the quantification of retention capacity, one of them was used in two variants. A rainfall-runoff models and simulated scenarios of land cover (positive and negative) were constructed in two selected catchments in HEC-HMS. The work also use previously performed simulation scenarios of land cover formulated by other authors. Total final set of 33 rainfall-runoff events were subjected to statistical correlation and regression analysis. The goal of these analyses was to determine the significance of individual parameters assessed in relation to the components of natural water retention of catchment.

The Mediatization of Rusalka - A Language Semiosis of the Opera and the Musical (A Comparative Semiotic Analysis)
Pavézková, Tereza ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Podzimek, Jan (referee)
In this Master's thesis, I attempt to capture the disparate semiosis of two musical genres - a traditional opera, Rusalka, which has a unique position in Czech national music, and a musical of the same name. On the basis of theoretical findings from semiotics as a science, from the approaches of F. de Saussure, C. S. Peirce and R. Barthes, and by means of semiotic analysis, the thesis unravels semantic elements that are specific for theatrical art. Attention is directed at the symbol as a major tool for semiosis and the classification of symbols on the basis of Peirce's three ontological categories. The analysis focuses on decoding the semiotic systems used in the two genres (the libretto, the music, the characters, the story, and the technical and symbolic means that are employed). The analysis also deals with the question of intertextuality and the ideological background of the text, and attempts in this way to compare the differences and/or the similarities of diverse semiotic codes of the same class, and to capture their originality and specificity. At the same time, the thesis is focused on the dominant semiotic code of the two genres. This is, on the one hand, determined by the systemic distinctions between opera and musical theatre, while, on the other hand, it is primarily predetermined by...

Memory of objects - Referencing the past in art education
Švidroňová, Žaneta ; Špirk, Ivan (advisor) ; Kornatovský, Jiří (referee)
In detaile, this projects focuses on object's far and near past and memories and brings their history into present exposition. Therefor the concept captures a new perception and observation of the importance of art history, using the still life art form and Vanitas theme and objects to symbolize the impermanence and transience time. However the main focus is not only on the objects themselves but also on their environment as a source of inspiration and cultural memory. This approach links the methods of displaying objects in the contemporary art with the current methods in art education. The didactic part reflects the attitude of pupils aged 14-15 to the objects from the distant and recent past and their values. As the result the artworks are a combination of graphic prints with fragments of photographs depicting snatches of memories, which has been moderately used as a hidden layer to properly reflect the author's perspective.

Blažková, Michaela ; Hrabáková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
This thesis focuses on the work of two Prague natives: Karolina Světlá and Jan Neruda and their conception of image of the Prague. The thesis target is to find out, which role prague motives play in the work of both writers due to a fact, that both writers were born in Prague. At Jan Neruda we concentrate on his feuilletons, at Karolina Světlá we focus on her autobiographical work except two of them. First part of thesis focuses on the life and fate of both writers and their entering in the literature. Second part is concentrated on the analysis of their representative works. The target of these analysis is to find, which role Prague plays in particular works. In the final part we try to compare the interpretation of Prague motives of both writers. We try to find the diferrences and identical features as well. Karolina Světlá approaches Prague history, with all its forgotten tales. On the other hand Neruda's Prague is current and alive. Also the diference of both conceptions lies in the themes. Světlá has a aims toward romanticism and nobility, Neruda is consistently realistic and he embraces the stress of everydayness. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Unstable Paintings
Pražan, Jan ; Typlt, Lubomír (referee) ; Rathouský, Luděk (advisor)
My diploma thesis depends on form of traditional hanging picture. The theme of "unstable images" I tried to complete in three cycles Špalky, Kaktusy and Čaje. I filled them with two narrative paintings Kardinálové and one solo piece Acaccia hand. I'm trying to find a shape of the subject matter that would fill the picture significance of such a character that display that object could become replaceable.
